Downsin Jerome, a crypto influencer, recently dropped a bombshell claim: Pump.fun’s co-founder, Alon Cohen, allegedly confirmed that the $PUMP airdrop for eligible Solana wallets would kick off on July 24 at 15:00 UTC. Now, that’s a bold statement, right?

Jerome made the post, which quickly went viral and amassed over 330k views. In his post, he shared that Alon Cohen, the CEO of Pump.fun, had officially announced the distribution of the $PUMP airdrop. Sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? Well, Alon, ever the mysterious figure, didn’t confirm or deny anything. Instead, he hopped onto X and shared a gif from the animated movie Monsters vs Aliens—specifically a scene featuring B.O.B, the one-eyed blue blob.

For context, B.O.B. was shown nervously shifting his eyes back and forth. Classic, right? But many traders took that as a sign that the airdrop might just be on the horizon.
One trader even went so far as to call it "the closest thing we’ve had to official confirmation thus far." So, yeah, while Alon didn’t come out and say “Yes, it’s happening,” traders are getting their hopes up. I mean, who wouldn’t? A possible airdrop from a project with a $1.32 billion ICO? That’s worth paying attention to.
Is the $PUMP Airdrop Real or Just a Troll?
But don’t get too excited just yet. As always, there are some skeptics in the crowd. Some folks are convinced it’s all a big misunderstanding. One user bluntly put it, “We ain’t getting airdrops, boys, just face it.” Ouch. Another person pointed out that Alon seemed to be replying to a troll post about the airdrop, not exactly giving any hard facts. Classic move for crypto influencers, right?
