Donald Trump is probably the most famous man on the planet at the moment. The former President of the United States recently survived a gunshot attack from an assassination attempt, and he did it in a John Wick style, too. But Donald Trump is also in the news for something many people look forward to.

In a Bloomberg interview, Trump finally spoke on his long-awaited NFT collections, which apparently the people have been waiting for. He mentioned that his previous collections were very successful, selling out in a day. And he is right: All of Trump’s three previous NFT collections sold out like hot cakes on the day they were released.

But it seems we, or at least “the people”, might be getting his latest collection soon. Trump said, “I’m going to do another one because the people want me to do another one.” If that’s the case, then the people will surely be happy.

This is, however, not the first time Trump has teased the idea of his new collection. He had previously hinted at it in a gala dinner held at Mar-a-Lago earlier in May. Although he didn’t give a release date, he said:

I believe in supply and demand. And as you know, one did great, two did great, and three did great. At some point, maybe that turns around.

Trump is Not a Newbie at Crypto

He has been involved in NFTs for a while now. In December 2022, he launched his “Trump digital trading cards,” which quickly sold out and fetched him about 648 ETH. His support for crypto, even in his re-election campaign, has earned him support from crypto giants like Marc Andreessen and Ben Horwitz, the bosses at the venture capital firm Andreessen Horowitz.

Former President Trump once declared himself “Crypto President”, and of course, crypto donations have also been a huge part of his election campaign. According to The Wall Street Journal, Trump’s campaign has earned $3 million in crypto donations during the second quarter of 2024 alone!

But it has not stopped there; the crypto has only kept rolling. Big names in the crypto space have donated huge funds to Trump’s cause. Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, or "The Winklevii,“ as Jesse Eisenberg once called them, have dropped $1.6 million worth of BTC for the crypto president. Jesse Powell, co-founder of Kraken, also gave out $845,000 worth of ETH.

You might be surprised to learn that it's not just the big names; even everyday people are contributing to the Trump campaign. For instance, a Michigan pizzeria owner and a ticket-vending machine agent for the Long Island Rail Road, among others, have also donated to the Trump re-election campaign in cryptocurrency.

It’s an amazing show of support from the crypto community, considering that Trump did not always support crypto. In his last presidency, he called crypto “not money” and “fraud,” but as it stands, he has made a full 180-degree turn, and the crypto community has welcomed him back with open hands.
