NFT markets are starting to recover as broader crypto markets pick up the pace again, but that hasn’t stopped one intrepid NFT collector known as Cozomo de Medici from emptying his bags. No, he’s not dumped them all for a profit, but instead donated them to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). The collection of 22 prized digital artworks consist of generative, 1/1, book, video, AI, 3D, sculpture and photography NFTs.
Who is Cozomo de Medici?
You’d be forgiven if you haven’t heard of Cozomo de Medici before. Medici is a pseudonymous NFT trader and collector, and nobody really knows his or her true identity. Rapper Snoop Dogg has come out in the past, claiming to be Cozomo de Medici, but hasn’t offered up any concrete evidence yet, similar to Craig Wright’s claims of being Satoshi Nakamoto. Snoop definitely has the pockets and the credentials to create such a personality, especially given the way Medici has risen to fame over the past several years. Unfortunately for now, though, Medici’s true identity remains. Secret.

This trend shows that art connoisseurs like Medici are out there and that they truly appreciate the hard work and effort that goes into NFTs. It could only be a matter of time before we see NFT masterpieces lining the walls of great palaces and the homes of billionaires, much in the way we have seen with traditional art over the past few millennia.
LACMA has now officially got the largest collection of blockchain artworks in the world, in terms of art galleries, making it a stand-out attraction for art enthusiasts and the next generation of artists to come.
