Uniswap has officially deployed its Continuous Clearing Auctions feature on the Base network, expanding its structured token launch infrastructure to one of Ethereum’s most active layer-2 ecosystems.
The rollout, confirmed on Jan. 22, makes CCA available to any developer building on Uniswap v4 on Base. The feature allows teams to conduct fully on-chain token auctions, discover a market-driven price, and automatically bootstrap liquidity without manual intervention.
Uniswap announced the deployment through its official channels, stating that CCA is permissionless and free to use. The protocol also released configuration guidelines for teams interested in integrating the mechanism into their launch workflows.

What Continuous Clearing Auctions enable on Base
With CCA live on Base, token launches no longer rely on one-time listings or fixed-price sales. Instead, tokens are sold gradually over time through a continuous auction process that clears bids block by block.
Each auction allocates a predefined amount of tokens per block to active bidders based on their maximum price. All successful bidders in a given block pay the same clearing price. This structure mirrors uniform-price auctions while extending price discovery across time rather than compressing it into a single event.
Once the auction concludes, liquidity is added automatically to a Uniswap v4 pool at the final cleared price. Teams do not need to manually create pools or guess an initial listing price.
This workflow combines auction execution, price formation, and liquidity provisioning into a single on-chain process.
Addressing early token launch risks
Bootstrapping liquidity for new tokens has long presented structural challenges. Fixed-price sales often lead to mispricing and priority races. Dutch auctions introduce timing games that favor professional traders. One-shot auctions concentrate demand and invite last-minute sniping. Bonding curves remain vulnerable to manipulation and path dependency.
The Continuous Clearing Auction model addresses these weaknesses by spreading token distribution over time. Demand cannot concentrate in a single block. Bid timing carries less importance than valuation. Early participants gain exposure naturally through longer participation rather than faster execution.
According to Uniswap’s open-source CCA repository, the mechanism ensures that the auction price always remains just below the point where active demand fully absorbs supply. This design prevents unsold inventory while maintaining continuous price discovery.
Open access for Base developers
Uniswap confirmed that CCA on Base does not require approvals or special permissions. Any team building on the network can integrate the feature directly into its token launch process.
This open access positions CCA as an alternative to private allocations and unstable fair-launch formats. Teams can rely on the auction’s final cleared price rather than setting an arbitrary starting valuation.
Developers can also customize auction parameters while keeping all logic transparent and on-chain. The result is a standardized launch flow that reduces reliance on off-chain coordination or centralized market makers.
Part of Uniswap’s broader v4 expansion
The Base deployment follows Uniswap’s wider rollout of v4 tooling across multiple networks. CCA launched on November 13, 2025, and has already seen adoption from projects such as Aztec Network for early price discovery and liquidity setup.
Beyond auctions, Uniswap has expanded its ecosystem integrations. The protocol now supports fiat access through Revolut and secure swaps through Ledger via its trading API. Uniswap v4 has also gone live on networks including Monad and X Layer.
By bringing Continuous Clearing Auctions to Base, Uniswap extends structured, on-chain token launch infrastructure into a high-activity layer-2 environment while continuing its multi-chain expansion strategy.
