After more than 14 years of doing absolutely nothing, two Bitcoin wallets, packed with a jaw-dropping 20,000 BTC, suddenly decided to stir on Thursday night. Talk about making an entrance after a long nap!

Let’s rewind to April 3, 2011, way before Bitcoin was the superstar it is today. One wallet, 1HqXB...gDwcK, decided to transfer 23,377.83 BTC to three different destinations. Two wallets, "12tLs...xj2me" and "1KbrS...AWJYm," each received a hefty 10,000 BTC, while the third pocketed the remaining 3,377.83 BTC. Blockchain.com was there to document this early Bitcoin adventure.

But for a staggering 14 years, the two big wallets sat completely dormant, until, quite dramatically, they woke up Thursday night and made their move. Within 30 minutes, both of them transferred their shiny 10,000 BTC to fresh wallets. What’s even more fascinating? The wallet that received the 3,377.83 BTC has already either spent or moved its funds back in 2011. These recent transactions are the first recorded ones for both of the revived addresses.

A Jaw-Dropping Value Surge: 13,982,800%

What’s going on here? Did the owners forget about their treasure? Or maybe they’ve been plotting a grand return all along? The mystery thickens. Who owns these wallets, and are we talking about one person or two? We don’t know. And who knows if we’ll ever get the answers?

As for the 20,000 BTC, this stack has ballooned in value by a mind-blowing 13,982,800%. A modest $7,800 back in 2011 is now a dizzying $2.18 billion. No biggie, right?

On a related note, Bitcoin’s price remains rock-solid, hanging around $109,064 as of Friday morning. With Bitcoin holding steady above the critical $100,000 mark, analysts are quietly whispering that something big is on the horizon. Maybe that elusive macro catalyst will push Bitcoin past its all-time high of $118,000? Time will tell.
